Why FINBIZZ?

Because something is missing.

25 September 2026

I have spent almost three decades working in finance. From accounting and financial management to CFO and executive roles and later advising businesses.
Over those years, I have watched the finance function change profoundly.
A CFO is no longer expected simply to run finance and produce the numbers. Finance, accounting, strategy, capital and risk remain at the core, but today the role extends into technology, operations, administration and people. Increasingly, CFOs are expected to help drive transformation.
In reality, the modern finance function sits exactly where finance, accounting, technology and business meet.
The roles themselves are changing too.
The Fractional CFO is giving more businesses access to senior financial expertise, while accountants are increasingly expected to move beyond compliance and reporting and become advisors to the business.
AI, automation and data are accelerating all of this.
Yet many of the conversations still happen separately, with limited exchange across functions and professional communities.
Finance talks to finance, accounting talks to accounting, technology talks to technology, business talks to business.
I think we need a place where those conversations come together.
Technology companies should be able to present what they are building not only at technology-focused events, but directly to the professionals who will evaluate, adopt and actually use their solutions.
And I believe Southeast Europe should have a stronger voice in this wider conversation.
Our region has considerable expertise and companies that compete internationally, develop technologies and business models used around the world, and succeed in highly competitive markets.
We cannot, and should not, separate ourselves from the ideas shaping finance globally. But those ideas need to reflect the reality of our region, while our own experience deserves to be part of the wider conversation.
We have experience worth sharing, questions worth asking and perspectives worth hearing.
That is how FINBIZZ started to take shape.
Not simply as another conference, but as a regional platform where finance, accounting, technology and business genuinely meet - to exchange perspectives, challenge assumptions and discuss not only what is coming next, but what actually works.
FINBIZZ Balkans 2027 will be the first major physical meeting point of that community.
But our ambition goes beyond two days.
We want FINBIZZ to become a trusted meeting point for the financial and business community of Southeast Europe.
And success should not be measured only by how many people attend.
It should also be measured by the conversations FINBIZZ creates, by the people it connects and by the ideas that continue long after everyone leaves the room.
There is still a lot to build.
And that is exactly what makes this moment so interesting.
This is why FINBIZZ matters to me and why I am excited about what we are building together.
